USDAA/ CYNOSPORT WORLD GAMES 2005

The Worlds was a ton of fun, great dogs and handlers, teams from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, Korea, fantastic vendors, cool dog sports,  Put  it on your calendar and go next year!

  Justine, Leo and Kells

What I learned at the USDAA worlds,

1  Take your mom (Delores ) to enjoy the drive, hold your dogs, and cheer you on and help you shop!

2 Pack your sun gear, rain gear, swimming suit, and your hidden cheerleader for the steeple chase.

The Northwest sent about 30 strong teams with some great runs! So many we couldn't begin to keep track!

16 inch division had 506 dogs.

Leo

12th  in semifinal Grand Prix!

12th in team standard.

6th in timed gamble.

13 in Team gamble.

Q in jumpers

Kells was 4th in team Gamble .

25 th in team standard

Q in jumpers

Incredible snooker run!

Then there were the other cool events to watch and play in !

Tito won a ribbon for Lure coursing!

Kells thought chasing the "bird" was a blast!

The Rally folk were there, and ready to come to Oregon and  Rally -US.  Fun match on Friday, sign up and run on Sat and Sunday.

The shelties picked agility over dock diving, imagine that!

The site  at West World is huge!  We missed the Dog Dancing, Flyball and Frisbee events.

The vendor selection was great and I spent a lot of money,  wait until you see my cool new shorts.

Other things I learned,

The Motel Six , on Camelback Road, is the last budget lodging near West World. It is hard to find, but very clean and I loved going for a swim every night. It was a steal at 44$ for the internet price. (Phooey on the people that cleaned out the ice machine at 5 am!)

USDAA is amazingly well organized, by taking my walk through schedule and my running schedule preprinted I was in the right place every time.

Smart folk, USDAA gave out cool and wonderful tee shirts for everything, yes I will  wear advertising, especially if its a semi finals tee shirt!.

I was less enchanted by the long days, and will skip the dinner next time. Standing around in the dark on Saturday waiting for results was tiring enough that we went home Sunday instead of staying for the final events.  (Hint, the event was too long, a lot of people bailed on Sunday.). Steeple chase could have started an hour earlier, the days were just too long for fragile me and mom. We needed to get out of the sun and heat.

Leo on the perfect line- Semi finals grand prix.
